Former President Donald Trump outlined his strategy to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours of returning to the White House, emphasizing the need for direct negotiations and deal-making.
During an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, Trump expressed his confidence in his relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, while criticizing President Biden’s ability to handle international affairs.
Trump acknowledged the intelligence and toughness of world leaders like Macron of France and Putin, describing them as formidable adversaries. He lamented what he perceived as a lack of understanding and competence in President Biden, referring to the current period as the most perilous in American history.
When asked about his approach to ending the war in Ukraine within 24 hours, Trump cited his familiarity with both Zelenskyy and Putin. While recognizing Zelenskyy’s integrity in handling the “perfect phone call,” Trump outlined his plan to pressure both parties to reach a deal.
Trump explained that he would personally advise Zelenskyy to make a strong push for a resolution, while warning Putin that failure to cooperate would result in substantial support for Ukraine. He asserted that if necessary, the United States would provide Ukraine with more assistance than ever before. Trump expressed confidence in his ability to achieve a deal within a single day.
