Overnight Shootings in Columbus Result in Two Hospitalizations

Two individuals were hospitalized overnight in separate shooting incidents, adding to the ongoing gun violence in the Columbus area.

In one incident, a 19-year-old was shot during a party at a short-term rental home on the 500 block of East Columbus Street, located in the city’s south side. At around 2:30 a.m., an argument erupted on the street outside the party, and the victim was shot while entering his car. The assailant fired at the crowd from a vehicle. The victim’s girlfriend drove him to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and fortunately, he is expected to make a full recovery.

Shortly after, another person arrived at Nationwide Children’s Hospital with gunshot wounds, potentially from a different location. However, limited information was provided to the officers regarding this incident.

In a separate incident, shots were fired from a vehicle near the intersection of North 4th Street and Third Avenue in the Italian Village area early Sunday morning, as reported by a special officer.

Thankfully, both victims of the shootings are expected to survive their injuries.
