The deadline for submission of nomination papers for the Senate elections has been extended to February 15.

ISLAMABAD:( REPORTBEAT ) Nomination dates for candidates contesting Senate elections have been extended. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the last date for submission of nomination papers for Senate elections to February 15.

According to the Election Commission, the schedule has been changed to facilitate the candidates for the Senate elections, under which the last date for submission of nomination papers has been extended to February 15.

The list of nominees for Senate elections will be released on February 16, scrutiny of papers will be held from February 17 to 18, appeals can be filed till February 20, all appeals will be disposed of by February 23, final list will be released on February 24. Candidates will be able to withdraw their nomination papers till February 25. Polling for the Senate elections will be held on March 3.

It may be recalled that 52 senators will retire this month after completing their constitutional term, after which the election of new senators for 48 seats is being carried out.
