Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that changes have been made in the appointment and transfer of government employees under which it has been decided to promote them after three years and if there is a case in government employee , he will not be promoted.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the Education Minister also said that decisions were taken yesterday on six sections of civil service reforms. The Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms aims to improve the performance of institutions.
Shafqat Mehmood further said that the powers of the boards have been enhanced for the development of employees, rotation policy has been formulated for civil service employees, officers who do not follow the rotation policy will not be promoted, government officials have been employed in any province for more than 10 years. The purpose of the reforms is to fix the system. The issue of lowering the retirement age of employees is not under consideration. It was proposed to raise the retirement age of employees to 65 years.
