The Sindh provincial government opposed the presidential reference in the Senate election case.
According to details, the Sindh government has summit its reply in the Supreme Court, in which the presidential reference has been opposed.
The Sindh government has said that the presidential reference was filed for political expediency. No legal question was raised in the reference sent by President Arif Ali, therefore the Supreme Court should refuse to give its opinion on the presidential reference.
In response to the Sindh government, it was said that the Senate election is held under the constitution.
The Election Act 2017 only clarifies the procedure for Senate elections.
Article 226 of the Constitution applies to Senate elections.
