ISLAMABAD ( REPORTBEAT )-The federal government has decided to drop an electric bomb on the people once again and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted an application to NEPRA, after which electricity prices are likely to go up by 92 paisa per unit.
According to the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), the increase in electricity prices is being made in the context of monthly fuel adjustment. The CPPA has requested that in January, 7.72 billion units of electricity was generated, the production cost of electricity was 51.66 billion units, and the cost of power generation was estimated at Rs. 5.75 per unit.
On the other hand, speaking in the National Assembly, Energy Minister Omar Ayub said that electricity was becoming more expensive due to the incompetence of the previous governments, and now these people were shedding crocodile tears.
Earlier, PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf, while expressing his in opposition about the increase in electricity prices, said that Imran Khan used to say don’t pay the electricity bill and he would tear the bill.
