ISLAMABAD ( REPORTBEAT )-Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed the hijackers of Senate elections as a threat to democracy and said that the only way to curb horse trading is through open voting in the Senate.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was contacted by Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Babar Awan. During the telephone conversation, consultations were held on the ongoing session of the Assembly, constitutional and legal issues as well as the Senate elections.
The Prime Minister also discussed the arrest of Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh in a telephone conversation. Babar Awan expressed concern over the arrest of Haleem Adil by PTI workers.
Dr Babar Awan said that Haleem Adil Sheikh was subjected to custodial torture and inhuman and degrading treatment.
