This is the second recommendation of Ogra for this year’s price increase. It has sent a summary to the Petroleum division which recommends an increase in petroleum products from January 16. This has recommended an increase in RS11.95 in the price of gasoline, RS9.57 increases per liter high speed diesel prices and RS8 increase in light diesel oil prices and furnaces.

OGRA officials said by reducing petroleum levies, the government could make a minimum increase of petroleum prices. The prime minister will make the final decision on whether to increase prices and the Ministry of Finance will announce new prices on January 15.

If the OGRA recommendation is approved, gasoline will cost 117.95 per liter and diesel will rise to RS119.81 per liter.
