Islamabad: For the second time in a month, the government has increased the price of electricity by Rs1.95 Per Unit

The federal government has increased the price of electricity for the second time in a month.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub said that despite the IMF program at the time of Corona, a subsidy of Rs 473 billion was given.
However, now they are going to increase the price of electricity by Rs1.95 per unit.
The minister said that the new rates will be implemented after the official notification is issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority NEPRA while due to wrong decisions of PML-N this increase is many times more.

Omar Ayub said that the previous government had planted landmines which meant mandatory payments, whether to spend electricity or not, had to pay 227 billion by 2019 and by 2023 these mandatory payments would be 1455 billion rupees. Yes, the PML-N deliberately made all these agreements under malice and set up factories. We have inherited this situation.

It may be recalled that this month , the government had increased electricity prices by Rs 1.6 per unit.
According to the notification, the increase in electricity prices has been made in terms of monthly fuel adjustment.
Under which 29 paise per unit has been increased for October and 76 paise per unit for November.
