Newly-elected US President Joe Biden has added Pakistani-born Salman Ahmed to his foreign policy team, after which Biden assigned another Pakistani to his environment team.
US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed Salman Ahmed, a Pakistani-American, as director of policy planning at the State Department.
Salman Ahmed has previously served as head of strategic planning at the National Security Council under former President Obama.
Salman Ahmed, Professor of International Relations and Research Scholar, has served as the Chief of Staff of the US Mission and Senior Policy Adviser to the United Nations. He has previously served in various capacities at the United Nations for 15 years. He holds a master’s degree in international affairs and economics.
