ISLAMABAD ( REPORTBEAT ) –The federal government has demanded the resignation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Shafqat Mahmood said that it was the responsibility of the Election Commission to hold transparent elections which was not fulfilled.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that the Election Commission has failed, the Election Commission as a whole should resign. Shafqat Mahmood went on to say that the government is giving best suggestions for the country and democracy, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan had introduced neutral empire in cricket but it is unfortunate that our proposals regarding elections have been rejected.
