Electricity prices have risen for the second day in a row

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has once again approved an increase in electricity prices. NEPRA has approved an increase of 83 paisa per unit in electricity prices. This will happen after the fiction is issued.

NEPRA has issued a decision to increase electricity prices in which it has been stated that the increase in electricity prices has been done on quarterly basis and the increase in electricity prices has been made in the context of adjustment for 2019-2020.

According to NEPRA, the increase in electricity prices has been made for one year which will impose an additional burden of Rs 84 billion on consumers. However, electric and lifeline consumers will be exempted from the increase.
