The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered immediate removal of Ahmed Omar Sheikh, accused in the murder case of American journalist Daniel Pearl, from the death cell and remarked that the accused should be kept in a government rest house after being kept in a common barracks for two days.

The Supreme Court heard the case regarding the release of Ahmed Omar Sheikh and others accused in the murder of Daniel Pearl. The Attorney General told the court that Ahmed Omar Sheikh was not an ordinary accused, but a mastermind of terrorists, to which Justice Umar Ata Bandial asked him to prove Ahmed Omar Sheikh’s links with terrorists. Justice Sajjad Ali Shah said that Ahmed Omar has been in jail for 18 years. What action was taken on the charge of terrorism?
