US President-elect Joe Biden has ruled out lifting sanctions on Iran, saying sanctions could not be lifted before the nuclear deal is renewed.
New US President Joe Biden has made the lifting of sanctions on Iran conditional on the renewal and implementation of the nuclear deal, but it is not clear whether Iran or the United States will take the initiative in withdrawing from the deal.
During his presidential campaign, Biden reiterated that he would soon return to a nuclear deal with Iran and prevent Iran from violating uranium enrichment and stockpile limits.
Earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had said that Iran would abide by the terms of the nuclear deal until sanctions on Iran were lifted.
After which Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif urged the European Union to use its influence to include the United States in the nuclear deal and to lift sanctions on Iran.
