The decision of the Supreme Court concluded a lot of petitions contesting the validity of the three agricultural laws promulgated last September. A detailed order is expected later today.
The Supreme Court ordered Tuesday to the implementation of the three new agricultural laws hoping that this will end the protracted protests by farmers and was also a four members group of experts in to resolve the deadlock between their leaders and the farmers. A bench of three judges of the top Court led by Chief Justice has announced that the existing MSP system before the promulgation of agricultural laws is maintained .
But in their response the farmers unions have clearly indicated that they will not call the demonstrations before the three laws promulgated in September are repealed. Thousands of farmers, mainly by Haryana and panjab, protest to Delhi Borders since November 28, requiring an repeal of the three laws and a legal guarantee to the minimum support system (MSP) for their crops.
