An accountability court on Monday order to close inquiry into income beyond assets inquiry against Chaudhary brothers.
Accountability court judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad took up the plea submitted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to close an inquiry against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Monis Elahi.
The anti-graft watch in its plea stated that the Bureau did not find any concrete evidence against the Chaudhry brothers and the assets of the Chaudhry brothers family are in accordance with the law and no illegal activity was found in them.
The anti-graft agency stated that all the assets were declared by the Chaudhry brothers in national institutions and they were also paying their taxes regularly.
“NAB Lahore has found everything in the investigation in accordance with the law,” it said and prayed the court to ordered to close the ongoing inquiry in Lahore against the Chaudhry brothers.
Prosecutor Asadullah, on behalf of NAB Lahore, presented arguments in the court and sought approval for immediate closure of the inquiry. The court approved the plea submitted by NAB Lahore.
