Nine Afghan security personnel have been killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan’s Maidan Wardak province.
According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, the helicopter crashed last night, and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
The foreign news agency quoted sources as claiming that the crashed helicopter was hit by a rocket after takeoff, but it was not clear who fired the rocket.
According to the official news agency, a Mi-17 helicopter crash landed in Behsud district in Maidan Wardak late Wednesday.
Nine people, including a pilot and five security force members of the Afghan army were killed in the crash, the Ministry of Defense was quoted as saying.
