June was a significant month in the gaming industry, featuring the release of three highly anticipated titles across various genres. Sony has now unveiled the top downloads for both PS5 and PS4 in June, disclosing that Diablo IV secured the first position on both consoles in the United States and Canada. Final Fantasy 16 claimed second place in the PS5 charts for the region, closely followed by Street Fighter 6 at third place.
Across Europe, Diablo IV also dominated the charts as the most-downloaded game on PS5, with Final Fantasy 16 and F1 2023 following closely behind. Surprisingly, Street Fighter 6 only managed to secure the sixth spot in terms of PS5 downloads in Europe last month. On the PS4 platform in Europe, Minecraft claimed the top position, with FIFA 23 securing second place, and Diablo IV taking the third spot.
Fans of Diablo IV have clearly been thoroughly enjoying their gaming experience, as Blizzard reported that the game surpassed $666 million in global sales within just five days of its launch, although specific sales figures have not been released yet. Square Enix announced that three million copies of Final Fantasy 16 were sold as of June 28, bringing the franchise’s total sales to over 180 million, which is approximately equivalent to the lifetime sales of Grand Theft Auto V.
Street Fighter 6 experienced a strong start last month, with over two million copies sold as of July 7 for the fighting game sequel. The remaining entries on the PlayStation most-downloaded list for the US, Canada, and Europe include familiar titles such as GTA V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and Rainbow Six Siege.
